Meeting Place - BookHub

Individual readers
If you want to just read for your own enjoyment you may wish to go online and use some websites to post your comments about your book. Here are some useful links :

The library's catalogue also allows you to write reviews online.

Book Clubs
Getting together with others to discuss your reading can be fun! When deciding on your meeting venue you will need to consider factors such as the :
  • Size of the group - is there enough space to cater for all?
  • Location - convenient for the members?
  • Catering - share or buy coffee or snack?
  • Social side - go out, stay or have a particular ambience?

Some book clubs choose to meet in a local coffee shop or cafe and enjoy coffee & eats while discussing their book. Some recruit solely from friends or co-workers and are happy to rotate meetings at each other's private homes. Others prefer to meet at the park, a meeting room or in the library. If your book club needs a place to meet, the Ipswich Library has study room facilities at :

  • Ipswich Library
  • Redbank Plains Branch Library

Due to the popularity of study rooms, bookings are essential. To ensure vacancy when you need it please book in advance by calling 3810 6768 or email infoserv@library.ipswich.qld.gov.au .
